Xbox Remote Play Now Available On Android Devices

APP

Are you looking to stream your Xbox games on your mobile device? If you are, then you’ll be very happy to learn that Microsoft has finally made its remote play app available to all Android users. Prior to that, the app was only available to Insiders, but now it seems that the company is rolling it out to everyone.

However, we should point out that this app should not be mistaken for Microsoft’s xCloud game streaming service. Instead, this is more like Steam Link or Sony’s Remote Play where your games are hosted and processed on your Xbox console, but it is then streamed to your mobile device. This means that you only get to play games that you actually own.

This is versus the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service that was launched not too long ago. With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, it allowed Android users to stream games from the cloud and choose from any number of games in Microsoft’s library. However, unlike Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the Xbox app and service is free, and all you need is an Xbox console, a mobile device, and a controller and you’re good to go.

Note that despite the app now being available to more users, it is still designated as a beta app, so it might have certain issues. Either way, if you’re curious about the app and would like to check it out, head on over to the Google Play Store for the download.
