BThe anti-discrimination house blessing is lopsided at Uber. Last week, the dispatcher fired its longtime diversity officer, Bo Young Lee, after employees complained about the recent anti-bias training Lee has overseen.

The event was entitled: “Don’t call me Karen” – in American slang, Karen is a symbol for a middle-aged white woman who makes all sorts of demands on those around her or calls the police immediately in the event of the smallest dispute. Karen’s victims, stereotypically, are often black—and it was black and Latino employees who didn’t see why she needed to be lectured about the alleged experiences of discrimination of upper-middle-class women without the possibility of appeal.
