Some iPhone 12 Devices Are Experiencing Display Issues

Usually when devices are first launched, they encounter some teething issues. In the past, we’ve seen various complaints about the iPhone’s screen when the handset is first released. This usually involves reports about displays showing a yellow-ish tint, but in the past, this has been attributed to the glue still not fully set yet and it should go away after a while.

However, there are now reports about the iPhone 12 showing a green tint on their displays along with reports of it flickering. If you were worried that this could be the result of a defective display, you can rest assured that it is most likely a software issue. This is thanks to MacRumors who got their hands on an official Apple document circulated to Authorized Service Providers in which Apple is advising them not to service these devices.

Instead, Apple is asking technicians to advise customers to keep their iPhones up to date with the latest software, suggesting that perhaps this could be a software-related issue that can be fixed with an update further down the line. We’ll have to wait and see if a future software update will address this issue, or if it really could end up being a defective display.

This issue seems to be affecting all four iPhone 12 models which include the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Not all users are necessarily experiencing this problem, so if you think your display looks fine, then you should be safe.
