Post-uprising Russia: ‘That I would ever see this disgrace and death of my country’
JEvgeny Prigozhin’s 24-hour mutiny has ended for the time being, and relief prevails in Russia. “Despite the political cost to the country tonight, there is a feeling that we have escaped from something very terrible that would have wounded almost all of us,” writes high-reach blogger Boris Rozhin on Telegram.
The leading article of the state news agency RIA also praises the passing of the “maturity test”. Unlike in the past, Russia is able to resolve such a critical situation at the negotiating table.
But Putin paid a high price for this “negotiated solution”.
