Leaked iPhone 14 Schematic Suggests Apple Will Be Ditching The Notch

Ever since the iPhone X made its debut and Apple included a notch in the front display to house the front-facing camera and its TrueDepth system, people have been complaining about its design. Most users have probably gotten used to it by now, but that doesn’t mean that they actually like it.

Apple did try to make it smaller in the iPhone 13, but it was still there. However, we could actually see the notch kind of disappear in the iPhone 14. This is according to an alleged leaked schematic posted on Weibo where it shows the front of what they are claiming is the iPhone 14 where the notch has been removed, and in its place Apple has opted to use a pill-shaped cutout.

While we’re sure some users might rejoice at the notch being gone, we’re not sure if this is any less obtrusive. This is because as you can see in the image above, the pill-shaped cutout followed by the circular cutout next to it aren’t exactly small, meaning that while the notch shape is gone, its replacement still looks like it could get in the way of things.

We have heard reports in the past that suggests that the iPhone 15 in 2023 will be the phone that could feature an in-display front-facing camera, so maybe this could be Apple’s way of transitioning to it. However, since all of this is unconfirmed, it’s probably best not to put too much stock into it for now.
