After detailing its 11th Gen Core S-series desktop processors (code-named “Rocket Lake-S”) with New Cypress Cove architecture featuring Ice Lake Core architecture and Tiger Lake Graphics architecture back in October last year, Intel has officially introduced the 11th Gen Core S-series Core i5, Core i7 and Core i9 processors. The new architecture brings up to 19% gen-over-gen instructions per cycle (IPC) improvement for the highest frequency cores and adds Intel UHD graphics featuring the Intel Xe graphics architecture for rich media and intelligent graphics capabilities.
The top-end 11th Gen Intel Core i9-11900K can clock up to 5.3 gigahertz, has eight cores, 16 threads and 16 megabytes of Intel Smart Cache. These support fast memory speeds with DDR4-3200, 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes, Intel Quick Sync Video, enhanced media (10bit AV1/12bit high-efficiency video coding decode and end-to-end compression), enhanced display (Integrated HDMI 2.0, HBR3), and discrete Thunderbolt 4 and Intel Wi-Fi 6E support.
Intel also introduced new Core i3 and Pentium Gold 10th processors with improved frequencies. Check out the detailed specifications below.
These new 11th Gen processors will roll out starting from March 30th.
