The Google Fit app for both Android, iOS and WearOS is receiving a new update that brings a bunch of new changes to the interface and some new features to keep up with the times. The home screen now shows information from connected apps along with new sharing capabilities and WearOS has new workout shortcuts along with updates to the weather screen and breathing exercises.

The home screen on the Google Fit app for iOS and Android will now serve as a one-stop place for information from all connected apps and devices such as the Fossil Gen 5E Smartwatch, Oura Ring, Withings sleep tracking mat, etc. It will also show the most recent workout and keep track of your heart rate, weight and blood pressure.

The app is gaining new sharing capabilities, encouraging users by showing them a summary of their runs/walks and letting them share stats, routes or photos to social media or via messaging apps.

On WearOS, the Google Fit tile has shortcuts to take users to their most recent workouts, and it will also show useful metrics all in one screen, while receiving pace alerts.

In August, we reported that the Weather app on WearOS is getting a bright, bolder redesign, showing relevant forecast details such as precipitation and weather alerts. The update is now rolling out to everyone now.

And lastly, WearOS is getting a new Breathing Tile that will help users perform guided breathing exercises. Users can also view a summary once the session is over, with information such as the change in heart rate from beginning to the end.

All of these updates will be rolling out globally over the next few days.
