Udo Lindenberg is exhibiting again

Culture lovers and fans of Udo Lindenberg meet in Rostock in June when an exhibition of the musician opens there. Among other things, it comes up with so-called “Likörellen”, i.e. paintings of the Hamburger of choice. But of course his music is not neglected either.

Just a few weeks after the reopening of the Kunsthalle Rostock in early May, the museum boasts an exhibition by “panic rocker” Udo Lindenberg. This is scheduled to open on June 1st, as reported by the “Ostsee-Zeitung”..

According to this, photographs and paintings such as some of the musician and artist’s “Liqueurelle” painted with alcohol will be exhibited on around 2,000 square meters. According to the report, the Kunsthalle would also like to present music from Lindenberg’s long oeuvre. The musician, who was born in Gronau in Westphalia and has lived in Hamburg for many decades, is also expected at the opening of the exhibition.

“A great festival of art and music” in Rostock

There should have been an exhibition by Lindenberg in Rostock around three years ago, but the Kunsthalle had to cancel it in 2020 due to the corona pandemic. A conscious decision was made “because we want to celebrate a big festival of art and music with Udo over the entire term,” Uwe Neumann, director of the Kunsthalle Rostock, is quoted as saying. “So one summer Udo in Rostock.”

The 76-year-old Lindenberg currently leads the German single charts, determined by GfK Entertainment, together with the 52-year-old Apache 207 and the joint song “Komet”. The collaboration took him to the top of the singles charts for the first time in his long career in early February. The musician had not previously succeeded in doing this with hits like “Sonderzug nach Pankow” or “Cello”.

On May 6th and 7th there will be an “Open Day” in the Kunsthalle after its general renovation. One will follow on May 8th festive reopening of the art museumin which Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania’s Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig is also to take part.
