Amazon Boxing Day and January sales
Amazon Boxing Day and January sales are just around the corner, which means it’s nearly time to cash in on the last round of deals of 2020. Amazon has maintained many of its discounts from the earlier November sales season, so you can already pick up some excellent discounts on top tech, most notably Amazon’s own range of Echo and Fire devices, but there’s plenty more where that came from.
Boxing Day sales officially start on December 26, however in recent years we’ve seen retailers launching dedicated sales events well before this traditional date. With offers landing from Christmas Eve onwards, then, we’d be ready to snap up some discounts sooner rather than later.
Not only that, but Amazon has been quick to kick off its own sales early in 2020. After the global pandemic delayed Prime Day to October, essentially beginning the lead up to Black Friday a month ahead of schedule, forcing other retailers to bring their own deals to the table early as well.
Not only are we seeing early deals this year, but we’ve also been seeing higher quality offers as well. Many of the deals in last year’s Amazon Boxing Day and January sales have been beaten already, and we expect to see this trend continue.
All this means that not only are you likely to find slightly cheaper prices this Christmas than last year, but of course in many cases – including TVs and laptops – there are now newer models on offer as well, giving you access to new features for less.
Meanwhile, there are plenty of excellent discounts already live in Amazon’s Last Minute Christmas sale, so if you can’t wait until Boxing Day, have a browse of our top picks you can buy now.

Amazon Echo Show 5:
£79.99 £39.99 at Amazon
Amazon has this Echo Show 5 previously listed at £79.99 but we’ve seen it closer to £59.99 for most of the year so far. That’s still an excellent discount packed into today’s £39.99 cost – the lowest price we’ve seen on the smart display yet.
PS5 games from £33.99 at Amazon
Amazon recently discounted a bunch of PS5 games down to £51.99, but we’re seeing even bigger price drops available in the Boxing Day sales. You’ll find Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, Immortals Fenyx Rising, and more up for grabs at some fantastic prices right now.

It also offers all-day heart rate tracking, sleep monitoring, contactless payments via Fitbit Pay and a lot more, all in a sleek, lightweight watch.
Fitbit Versa 2:
£199 £129 at Amazon
Save £70 – If you’re after a fairly cheap smartwatch (certainly cheaper than Apple anyway), the Fitbit Versa 2 offers far more than the excellent fitness features that made the brand so famous. You’re getting an excellent display for all your smartphone notifications as well as Amazon Alexa built in as well.
Shark corded anti-hair wrap vacuum cleaner:
£249.99 £199.99 at Amazon

Sony WH-1000XM3 wireless headphones:
£330 £219 at Amazon

Ecovacs Robotics N79S robot vacuum cleaner:
£249 £179.99 at Amazon
There’s already a £30 discount on this Alexa enabled robot vacuum, but you can save a further £40 by applying the on-page voucher before heading to checkout. That brings the final price down to just £179.99 – an excellent cost for a self-charging vac with drop sensors and plenty of battery life.
Asus C433 14-inch touchscreen 2-in-1 Chromebook:
£499.99 £398 at Amazon
Save £100 on this 14-inch touchscreen Chromebook, with premium 2-in-1 features that can easily switch the laptop between a conventional clamshell design and a tablet. That’s usually a pricey feature and considering you’re also getting a larger 14-inch display and 64GB of onboard storage here, this is a great price.
Panasonic TX-55HX580BZ 55-inch 4K TV:
£499 £449 at Amazon
You can save £50 on this excellent 55-inch Panasonic 4K TV. Considering the size and quality of this display, £499 was already a great price, which makes that extra discount all the more exciting in Amazon’s Boxing Day sales.
Apple Watch Series 5 GPS + Cellular:
£749 £471.99 at Amazon
Save £277 on the Apple Watch Series 5. The previous generation still stands tall over cheaper models, with a larger and always-on Retina display and ECG functionality as well.

When will the Amazon Boxing Day sales begin in 2020?
Amazon Boxing Day sales traditionally kick off as you would expect, on December 26. However, this year we were seeing Black Friday offers as early as October and there are still excellent offers flying off the shelves right now.
Not only that, but in recent years, Amazon’s Boxing Day sales have started as soon as Christmas Eve. That means we would keep a close eye over the entire Christmas week, and it’s likely that those Boxing Day deals will merge into January sales in the week after as well.
What to expect from the Amazon Boxing Day and January sales
Amazon has gone hard on its offers this year, to stay ahead of the increased online competition in 2020. That means you can expect big things from the Amazon Boxing Day and January sales this year, but there are some products you can rely on a little more.
Echo and Fire devices always see discounts over big sales periods like this. With the 4th generation now on the shelves (and seeing their own deals over the November event), those prices are dropping even further than you might expect as well.
Amazon is also usually an excellent place to find deals on TVs, headphones, and wearables in particular, with the retailer holding leading price drops on everything from LG OLED TVs to the Apple Watch and Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones so far in 2020.
How long will Amazon’s Boxing Day sales last?
Amazon’s Boxing Day sales usually taper off a couple of days after Christmas, but you won’t be short of discounts in limbo week. The January sales pick up right where Boxing Day left off, often with the same products discounted as well.
