As many of you know, Huawei’s more recent smartphones do not come with Google Play Services installed on them due to the company being on the US Entity List. This prevents them from doing business with US companies, such as Google, however, there is some good news on that front.

This good news comes in the form of an app developed by XDA Developers forum member bender_007. It’s called Googlefier and what it does is that it makes it a quick and easy method of installing Google’s apps onto Huawei and Honor smartphones. While it was possible to do so in the past, the method involved was rather long and tedious and you’d basically need to set aside 20-30 minutes to get everything up and running.

For the most part, Googlefier seems to follow the same method as before, except that all the processes are in the app itself and makes it easier to follow. It will still need some time to get it all up and running, but it should be a smoother overall process. We should point out that Google has cautioned against installing its apps on non-authorized devices.

This could mean that certain apps might not work as intended, so your mileage may vary, but if you love Huawei’s hardware but can’t live without Google’s apps or services, then maybe the Googlefier app might be worth checking out.
