Motorola’s moto g series has always been a favorite for buyers who are on a strict budget. And moto g9 power is 2020’s moto G-series’ budget battery behemoth.  Lately, Motorola has been constantly listening to Indian consumers and delivering highly competitive products at aggressive price points throughout the year 2020. The company has upgraded moto g9 power with some perks that elevate it above its predecessors, besides long-lasting battery life.

To be specific, the moto g9 power packs a whopping 6000mAh battery, 64MP camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 Mobile Platform, and near-stock Android experience, all at UNDER 12K!

Well, it does not end here as the moto g9 power also packs a slew of features that are often seen in smartphones above Rs. 20,000 like 2X2 MiMO LTE and CA (carrier aggregation), NFC, Quad Pixel Technology, and Night Vision mode even on the front camera and an IP52 rating.

To make it clear, here is the complete moto g9 power specifications:

  • 6.8-inch (1640 x 720 pixels) HD+ LCD screen with 20.5:9 aspect ratio, 264 ppi
  • Octa Core Snapdragon 662 11nm Mobile Platform (Quad 2GHz Kryo 260 + Quad 1.8GHz Kryo 260 CPUs) with Adreno 610 GPU
  • 4GB LPPDDR4x RAM, 64GB storage, expandable memory up to 512GB with microSD
  • Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano / microSD)
  • Android 10
  • 64MP rear camera with f/1.79 aperture, LED flash, 2MP depth sensor, 2MP 2.5cm macro camera with f/2.4 aperture, 1.75um pixel size

All in all, under 12K we get the best combination of Battery, Camera, and Performance. But in this huge market, moto g9 power faces stiff competition from various companies like Nokia, OPPO, and Realme.

At this price point, we have numerous options, but none of the devices comes without a compromise. Let us quickly check out moto g9 power’s potential competitors and what makes them inferior to Motorola’s latest offering.

Nokia 5.3 – 4GB+64GB (12,499)

Starting with Nokia 5.3, both the devices come with an HD+ display, however, the moto g9 power comes with a much larger and immersive 6.8-inch display, compared to Nokia 5.3’s 6.5-inch. On the processor front, the Nokia 5.3 comes with a much older Snapdragon 665 Mobile Platform.

However, it is important to note that the CPU and GPU speeds of both Snapdragon 662 and Snapdragon 665 are exactly the same, plus Snapdragon 662 comes with improvements on other fronts such as a better Wi-Fi chip, Global positioning with L1+L5 support, and improvements in the image processing unit. Furthermore, Nokia 5.3 does not have any IP ratings as well.

On the optics front, the Nokia 5.3 comes only with a 13MP f/2.2 quad-camera system, which simply cannot compare with the moto g9 power. And on the front, it has just an 8MP shooter, which of course is inferior to moto g9 power’s 16MP selfie shooter.

In terms of power back up, Nokia 5.3 has a 4000mAh battery that is physically 33% smaller than the moto g9 power. In addition, the moto g9 power comes with a much faster 20W Turbo Power charger vs the regular 10W charging available on Nokia 5.3.

Oppo A53 – 4GB+64GB (12,990)

Just like Nokia 5.3, Oppo A53 also features a 6.5-inch HD+ display, whereas moto g9 power has a huge 6.8-inch display. The OPPO A53 is powered by much inferior Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 SoC as well. On the photography side, OPPO A53 has a 13MP f/2.2 quad-camera system, which simply cannot compare with the g9 power.

Not just that, even the selfie shooter on the g9 power comes with quad pixel technology + night vision for superior low light selfies, whereas the OPPO A53 does not have Quad Pixel Technology on the front camera.

The Oppo A53 comes with a 17% smaller 5000mAh battery than moto g9 power. In addition, the moto g9 power comes with a much faster 20W Turbo Power charger vs the 18W charging available on Oppo A53. Moreover, the Oppo A53 does not come with any IP ratings nor 2X2 MiMO LTE and CA. Notably, it does not support NFC as well.

While the moto g9 power comes with a near-Stock Android, bloatware-free, Ad-free experience, Oppo A53 comes with ColorOS with its fair share of bloatware as well. The moto g9 power comes with moto actions and gestures.

Realme 7i – 4GB+64GB (11,999)

The Realme 7i comes equipped with a 6.5-inch display, which again does not provide an immersive experience as moto g9 power. In this case, both these devices come with Snapdragon 662. However, the near-stock Android experience with perfect optimisation on the moto g9 power gives you an edge in terms of performance.

Both these devices come with similar 64MP rear camera setups on the rear. However, when it comes to the front camera moto g9 power comes with quad pixel and night vision technology for better low light imaging.

Like Oppo A53, the Realme 7i comes with just a 5000mAh battery that is physically 17% smaller than the moto g9 power. In addition, the moto g9 power comes with a much faster 20W Turbo Power charger vs the 18W charging available on Realme 7i.

Unlike moto g9 power, the Realme 7i does not come with NFC, IP Rating, or 2X2 MiMO LTE and CA.

Realme C15 – 4GB+64GB (10,999)

The Realme C15 comes equipped with a 6.5-inch display and powered by Snapdragon 460 Mobile Platform. The Realme C15 features a 13MP f/2.2 quad-camera system, which is not in the league of moto g9 power. The front camera on the Realme C15 does not have Quad Pixel Technology as well.

However, both devices come with a massive 6000mAh battery, however, with the clean and pure Android OS on moto g9 power, you get an edge here as well. Plus, the Realme 15 comes just with an 18W charger. Like other devices, the Realme C15 does not come with NFC, IP Rating, or 2X2 MiMO LTE and CA.

If you observe the above list, the moto g9 power is way ahead in terms of specifications and other features, still carries a cheaper price tag.

The moto g9 power comes in Metallic Sage and Electric Violet colours, is priced at Rs. 11,999 and will be available from Flipkart starting from December 15th.
