Android devices with always-on displays aren’t new, but yet this is something Apple has never adopted, or at least until recently with the Apple Watch. However, it seems that for the next iPhone, Apple could finally be introducing an always-on display. This is according to Max Weinbach over at EverythingApplePro.

According to the report, it seems that the iPhone 13 could have an always-on display in which certain key features would only be displayed, like the clock and battery icons, although we’re not sure if Apple has plans to possibly include icons/symbols to indicate that the user might have notifications that they need to attend to.

However, the report claims that as far as notifications are concerned, Weinbach claims that they will show on the screen “using a bar and icons”, but apparently not all of the screen will light up and will display as it is at the moment, except dimmed down and only temporarily. It’s a bit hard to imagine what this could look like, so we’ll have to wait for an official announcement to get a better idea, if it ever gets announced.

Also, it is unclear if this will be a feature offered across the entire iPhone 13 lineup or if Apple could limit it to the higher-end models, but we’ll have to wait and see.
